    • 1). Turn off the circuit breaker to the GE Profile dishwasher. Once the power is off, open the dishwasher door and slide the bottom dish rack out of the unit. Soak up the standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher with a large sponge. Squeeze the sponge into a bucket, and continue soaking up the water until you are able to work without splashing water on your floor.

    • 2). Remove the two hex-head screws securing the sump inlet cover to the bottom of the dishwasher, using a socket wrench and 1/4 inch socket. The sump inlet cover is the rectangular box on the upper-right side of the sump entrance screen.

    • 3). Lift the sump inlet cover off the dishwasher bottom and out of the unit. Pull out the sump filter screen inside the sump, bringing the sump filter screen up with it.

    • 4). Grab the ends of the lower spray arm, and lift up on the arm gently, if you have a full sump entrance screen that covers the bottom of the dishwasher. Rotate the arm counterclockwise to remove it from the dishwasher.

    • 5). Unscrew the white nut securing the sump entrance screen to the center hub with your fingers. Grasp the screen near the center, and lift up to unsnap it from the bottom slots. Continue lifting until the screen is completely disconnected, and remove it from the dishwasher.
