The Story
Dropped off on the doorstep of an orphanage as a baby, Lewis has grown up dreaming of being a famous inventor. One of his bizarre inventions leads to an encounter with a strange boy claiming to be from the future. According to the stranger, Lewis is destined to be a great inventor if only he'll just learn to believe in himself and to keep on moving forward.
The Bonus Features
You have to be a huge fan of the film to sit through the commentary track. Director Stephen Anderson does his best to share every single bit of trivia regarding the film but - and this isn't meant as an attack on Anderson - it's just not all that captivating. The other bonus features are definitely more entertaining. The Meet the Robinsons DVD includes three deleted scenes with commentary as well as two music videos.
Also worth checking out is the 'Keep Moving Forward: Inventions That Shaped the World' featurette detailing real inventors who changed our world. For more behind-the-scenes info, sit through 'Inventing the Robinsons' which traces the evolution of the story, beginning with William Joyce's novel.
