How to Lower Your Cable Bill
- 1). First you will need to find your cable company's phone number. Generally any phone number for the company will work, because as soon as you start talking to someone they will usually transfer you to the correct area.
- 2). Now that you have the number you will need to call your cable company.
Explain to them
1) Your bill is too expensive for your current finances
2) You have become interested in another provider for your services (Maybe a Satellite provider)
3) That you would like to leave there company, to move to the new company because they have better pricing. - 3). Now you do not actually need to move to another provider, or even have any reasonable interest in moving to another provider, but this will let them know that you are serious about needing your monthly cable bill lowered. Ask them if there is anything they could do, because you would really like to save the hassle of switching companies, but if at this price there is no choice.
- 4). If by now, they have not offered you a better deal (which they almost always will, typically a deal for the next 6 months, at nearly half price, with no contract, and the price will revert back after the 6 months), then you should ask to speak to a supervisor.
- 5). While talking to the supervisor, simply repeat steps 2 and 3. If this still does not work, proceed to cancel your service, insisting that you would rather stay with them if possible, but you cannot afford this bill. Sometimes, they will lag until the very last possible second before they will give you a better offer. At the very last moment, if all else fails (which is somewhat unlikely), tell them that you have decided you will keep your service, but that you would like to be notified as soon as any possible non-contract promotional offers are available.
- 6). Enjoy your savings!
