Camping-Themed Centerpieces for a Bat Mitzvah
- No campsite is complete without a campfire on which to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Create the look of a campfire for a centerpiece by grouping candles together. You can also create the look of a campfire by using simple craft materials. Use paper towel or toilet paper rolls for the logs and cut flame shapes out of tissue paper or construction paper. Set a stick with marshmallows on the end to the scene.
- Most campsites include a cabin or tent, and this theme can be incorporated into a bat mitzvah centerpiece. Create a cabin out of a shoe box and craft sticks or a tent out of fabric and craft sticks. Add other camping elements to the scene, such as a small campfire made out of small sticks and cotton balls colored red with a marker. Add small trees from a craft store and rocks that you can collect outside.
- Camping means getting back to nature, and you can bring some of nature indoors with a naturally-inspired centerpiece. Gather found items such as pine cones, sticks and rocks. Arrange the items in a natural-colored basket or put the items in a clear container, such as a large clear bowl to use as a centerpiece. Add raffia around the perimeter of the centerpiece for a finished look. You can also add a lantern or other camping item to the center of the scene and surround it with the naturally-found items.
- If the bat mitzvah girl is an avid camper, use images of some of her camping adventures to create a centerpiece. Frame the images in natural-looking frames and group them along with a compass, leaves, sticks, rocks, a canteen, or other camping items. Or simply use a vase of wildflowers surrounded by rocks and pine cones. You can even create a vase out of sticks by collecting branches and sticks of a similar size and glue them to the sides of a vase. Then fill the vase with wildflowers.
