Cast Iron Cylinder Wood Stove Installation
- A parlor stove is made of sturdy cast iron and has a cylindrical shape. Four legs jut out from the stove base, giving it a solid stance. The stove has a viewing door on the front, and a side door offers a safe way to add more firewood.
- Place the woodstove on a noncombustible floor surface, such as concrete, with 12 inches of open space surrounding the stove. Use stovepipe to connect the stove to the chimney. Confirm that the chimney extends at least 2 feet above the roof for safe ventilation.
- The chimney should not have multiple bends; the best ventilation and draft for a woodstove occurs with a straight chimney. Do not install the stove against a wall. Ensure 8 to 36 inches of empty space between the wall and the stove body.
