- Day 2: Consuegra
- Day 3: El Escorial
- Day 3: Valle de los Caidos
- Day 4: Segovia
- Day 5: From here, either head to Salamanca or to the wine-growing region of Ribera del Duero

2. North-West from Madrid
Head straight up to the Ribera del Duero wine region and then on to Burgos with its magnificent cathedral and city walls. Then head west to Leon with its abundance of free tapas, towards the north coast for cider-loving Oviedo and then to Santiago via the Rias Altas. Then either head to Santiago or explore the Rias Baixas. After that, consider driving down to Porto in Portugal.- Start: Madrid
