Affiliate Marketing Tips - 3 Things That Will Destroy Your Income
Affiliate marketers are an interesting breed.
You have to have a different kind if mindset to be an affiliate marketer.
As product creators, we're focused on coming out with a great product first and marketing it second.
As affiliate marketers, it's all about the marketing.
Nothing else really matters.
Well, all right.
But if you're going to market your product, whatever it is you've decided to promote, you better heed these warnings.
Failure to avoid these common pitfalls will not only destroy your income but destroy your reputation as well.
Keep reading to find out what my danger list is.
Right at the top of that list is picking a product to promote.
Yeah, I know, I said it's all about the marketing, and it is.
But you're putting yourself behind the 8 ball right from the start if you do this one thing.
What am I talking about? I'm talking about jumping on the "hot product" bandwagon and promoting the same thing that everybody else is.
You know, those Clickbank products with 300 plus gravities.
The competition, unless you are a crackerjack marketer, is going to eat you alive.
If you make one sale it will be a miracle.
I am speaking from experience...
5 years of it.
Next on the list is your ads.
This is where affiliate marketers really screw up.
Let's see if this doesn't sound familiar.
You pick your product and then write to the product creator or go to his web site to get his canned ads.
You then take those ads, word for word, and send them all over the Internet.
Do you REALLY think that you're going to make any sales that way? If everybody sends out the same ads, nobody stands out.
You're all the same.
That makes getting a sale a crap shoot.
Okay, don't do it.
Finally, there is how you actually promote the product.
There are so many effective ways to promote a product online today.
So what do most affiliate marketers do? They use methods that either are too expensive or don't work.
Why? Because everybody else is using them.
It's like lambs to the slaughter.
The affiliate marketers who are successful are the ones who think outside the box.
Anyway, there you have it.
If you simply avoid these three things, you'll give yourself a decent chance at success with affiliate marketing.
