How to Become the Best Student Body President

    • 1). Listen to all of your fellow students, not just your friends. Find out what they like about your school, and what changes they would like to see made. This will help you to figure out an agenda for change during your time in office.

    • 2). Take action on promises that you make to your classmates. Don't tell someone that you're going to change something, unless you know that you can. Follow through with your promises, and keep people updated on changes that you are working to make. Your classmates will respect you more if they know that you're doing your best to work for them. You will not be able to please everyone, but do your best to make the majority happy.

    • 3). Maintain a good, clean image. Go to class, study hard, do your best to get good grades, and stay out of trouble. It looks bad for the student body if their president is barely passing classes, and keeps getting into trouble. Most schools have a minimum GPA that the student body president must maintain, and little tolerance for misbehavior.

    • 4). Show your school spirit. Attend school sporting events, organize pep rallies, and do anything you can to encourage your classmates to get excited about your school. A campus with a lot of school spirit is a fun and energetic place to be. You will also really impress the administration if you are able to increase the amount of spirit demonstrated by the student body.

    • 5). Get your school involved with the community. Partner with local hospitals, food banks, animal shelters, and other organizations in the neighborhood. Create ways for students to get involved with these organizations. This can be a really rewarding experience for the students, and very helpful for the organizations.
