Why Comics are better than Books and Movies
Comics, Comic Books and Graphic Novels have made millions of fans and followers during the last decades. They combine the pleasure of watching a movie and the enjoyment of reading a book. People have a subconscious will to create fantastic scenery and stories and this is the main reason why books are usually better than movies. Each reader has a much more versatile opinion about the book he/she read comparing to movies because he/she added the "fantasy" elements to make it up in a way that suits his/her imagination. Additionally, book authors know that the "hook" to keep the reader is the storyline therefore they try to be as descriptive as possible.
On the other hand, movies provide a more entertaining approach with aspects that cannot be found in books like acting, visual effects and music. This activates more human senses including sight and hearing, making it easier and more pleasant to follow.
Comics stand somewhere in between. Comparing to books, comics often offer fantastic stories, ranging from horror to fantasy, coupled with sketchy visualizations to give you a feel of the scenery, especially when in color and not black and white. Each comic strip provides the reader with only the major actions of the story, leaving the minor details up to your imagination. Therefore comics trigger your imagination and at the same time offer the visual aspect that books cannot.
Comparing to movies, comics completely lack the audio feature. However, they make it up by usually having more carefully thought and detailed characters (from intelligent detectives to superheroes). Comics also have an artistic advantage over movies with detailed drawings often in color. Comics that come in series also offer the euphoria of waiting the next issue, providing rich storylines and more hours of entertainment (and thinking) than books and movies.
And of course, a comics collection is always more valuable than a book or movie collection.
