    Exfoliation

    • Exfoliation is key in diminishing stretch marks, as it buffs away dead skin cells that most prominently display the stretch mark discoloration. Use a loofah, brush, or wash cloth along with an exfoliating body wash. These body washes are grainy, and scrub away dead skin cells with ease. New, undamaged skin will be able to grow, eliminating the stretch mark discoloration. Exfoliate in the shower at least once per day, and follow up with a moisturizer to replenish the skin.

    Moisturize

    • Many times, stretch marks can occur because skin is not elastic, meaning as is stretches, it cracks because there is no resilience. Moisturize daily with a cocoa butter lotion, cocoa butter stick, or Vitamin E. These lotions also work to diminish stretch marks by replenishing and repairing the damaged skin. If using Vitamin E capsules, break open one end, and massage the oil directly into the stretch marks at least twice daily. If using the Vitamin E cream, simply rub the cream directly into the stretch marks. Always moisturize after bathing, as the pores are open, and will more easily absorb the moisturizer.

    Proper Diet

    • Incorporating the proper diet is also an effective way to diminish stretch marks, and prevent them from developing in the future. Eat at least two servings each of foods rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E, as these vitamins work to promote skin tissue growth, and repair damaged skin. This includes citrus fruits, sunflower seeds, nuts, vegetable and olive oils, and leafy green vegetables. Also keep the body fully hydrated, as this will improve skin elasticity, and flush toxins from the body. Drink at least six 8-ounce glasses of water each day.
