If you have made the decision to sign up for your first cardio kickboxing class, then you have made a big and important step towards getting in the best shape of your life. This can be a great way to reach your weight loss goals, build muscles or simply finally feel good about yourself by being healthy. No matter what your motivations were for signing up for a cardio kickboxing class; that first course you take can be nerve wracking; as many people do not know what to expect.

However, with a few things in mind you will find that you can make certain you are prepared for your cardio kickboxing class and that you are ready to take on the challenges that this fitness course will present you with. First, you will want to make sure that you are preparing not only in the minutes or the hours leading up to the class but in the day or days before your first cardio kickboxing class. The first and most important thing you can do is to make sure you are hydrating. This means hydrating the night before with lots of water and all day long leading up to your first cardio kickboxing class. Proper hydration means sipping water throughout the day; not just chugging a glass right before bed or right before you go to the gym.

What you eat the morning of your first cardio kickboxing class is important as well, especially if your class is later on in the day. Make sure that you start your morning off with a healthy and balanced breakfast that has good carbs in it. This will help give you longstanding energy to take you through the day. Consider options like granola, whole grain cereal, yogurt or oatmeal. You will also want to add fruit to this morning meal as well. For a lunch time option you will want to make sure that you get a good serving of protein as well; as this will help keep your muscles strong. If you are eating in the few hours leading up to your class make sure you keep your snacking light and try to focus on protein-filled snacks. Things like a small granola bar or a piece of fruit like a banana are great snacking options for later in the day.

When you arrive to your class, make sure that you have plenty of water as you will likely need a few water breaks during the first course. You will also want to try to do some warming up on your own, even before the instructor begins your warmup so that your muscles can be lose and ready to take on this new and exciting workout class.
