    • 1). Place a small piece of electrical tape on your bike's current seat post. Place the tape directly above where the seat post is exposed from the bike's frame. This ensures that your new seat is mounted at the same height as you are accustomed.

    • 2). Use an allen wrench to undo the seat post binding bolt, or simply open the quick release lever to release the bolt's binding force.

    • 3). Pull your old seat post out from the frame of your bicycle.

    • 4). Use a rag and pipe cleaner to clean the interior of your frame's seat tube. You will want to clean out any remaining lube from your old seat post as carbon fiber is susceptible to degradation from most lubricants.

    • 5). Place your new carbon fiber seat post directly next to your old seat post and place a small piece of electrical tape on the post marking how deep it should be inserted into your frame.

    • 6). Insert your new carbon fiber seat tube into your frame until it meets the piece of electrical tape you are using as a height marker.

    • 7). Tighten the seat post binding using either an allen wrench or by simply closing your quick release lever.

    • 8). Use an allen wrench to listen to the seat binding clamp on your old seat post to remove the saddle from the post.

    • 9). Place your saddle onto your new carbon fiber seat post and tighten the bolts down with an allen wrench. Do not tighten all the way as you will want to leave a little play in the fitting allowing you to level the saddle.

Place a level on your saddle and tweak it until it is level. You can just eyeball it, as well.
