    Fuel Specs

    • Both gas and diesel trucks have either a 25- or 34-gallon fuel tank, depending on the trim, according to MSN Autos. The 4.3-liter engine with four-wheel drive and a four-speed automatic transmission has a rating of 16 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The two-wheel-drive trim has a rating of 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

      The 6.2-liter engine with four-wheel drive and a four-speed automatic transmission gets 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. The two-wheel drive has a rating of 18 mpg in the city and 23 for highway. The 7.2-liter 1990 Chevy 1500 gets 10 mpg in the city and 11 mpg on the highway.
