The Drain Hose Leaks on My GE Profile Washing Machine
- 1). Cut the power for the washer by unplugging it from the outlet. Move the washer away from the wall so you can access the hose and drain behind.
- 2). Locate the drain hose connection to the washer. These hoses are usually installed at the factory, but may become loose over time. If the hose is loose, tighten it in the socket at the rear of the machine by turning it clockwise to lock it back into place.
- 3). Check the hose connection at the drain. The gooseneck end of the hose is usually held in place in the drain by a piece of plastic or wire. Check that the end of the hose isn't cracked or pitted along the gooseneck. Repair any breaks by cleaning the gooseneck and then wrapping it tightly with repair tape.
- 4). Check along the dishwasher line for leaks. If there is a tear or split in the hose, it should be replaced.
- 5). Remove the hose from the GE Profile washer by turning counterclockwise. Cut any wire or plastic ties securing the other end of the hose with the snips. Pull the gooseneck end out of the drain.
- 6). Insert the end of a new drain hose into the back of the GE Profile. Turn to the right to lock into place.
- 7). Insert the gooseneck into the drain pipe. Secure with the wire or plastic clamp.
- 8). Restore the power for the washer. Run a test cycle and check for leaks.
