How to Assemble a 3-Room Tent
- 1). Establish a safe area to erect the tent. Clear the ground of sticks, stones and other debris. Avoid placing the tent underneath dead trees and at the bottom of hills. Be at least 200 feet from any water source.
- 2). Unroll the tent's footprint. A footprint is a tarp sold separately for a specific model of tent. It protects the tent's body from the ground, giving your tent a longer life.
- 3). Unfold the tent and align the bottom with the footprint. Place the door in the same direction as the wind so that the wind does not blow into the tent. Zip all of the doors closed. If it is windy, use stakes to secure the tent's body and footprint to the ground.

Unfold all of the tent poles and identify where each pole goes. Poles can go into sleeves made of cloth or are secured by hooks. Poles usually attach to the outside of the body, but at times can be inserted underneath the rain fly. The rain fly is the tarp that covers the tent to keep the tent dry. - 5

Erect the tent by inserting the poles into their appropriate locations. You may have to insert the poles in sets. Bend the poles until the end goes into the tent and footprint grommets, the metal ring on the corners. Have a friend help with this part. - 6). Pull the rain fly over the tent's body. Align the door of the tent with door on the rain fly. Secure the hooks or loops on the inside of the rain fly to the poles.
