Because You Left Theories

• The big giraffe by the crib makes me think that the baby may grow up to study animals. Perhaps she'll (if the baby is a girl) grow up to be an anthropologist (named Charlotte).
• Sayid said he was taking Hurley somewhere safe. He may have been getting him out of the mental institution to keep Jack and Ben from getting to him.
• When Locke tells Ethan that Ben had appointed him as their new leader, Ethan says that's the most ridiculous thing he's ever heard. I think one of the reasons it's ridiculous is because at that time Ben was not the leader of the Others and most people had never considered that he might become the leader.

• The Oceanic 6 and Desmond and Frank weren't supposed to get off the island. I think the island might be jumping through time because something got messed up with the people leaving. Perhaps the island needs a constant?
• Hurley wants to know what kinds of things make Sayid paranoid to see if they are like the things Hurley has been seeing.
• Only people who are indigenous to the island are grounded in time, while the others, including Juliet, who hasn't been on the island very long, jump through time.

Observations from Because You Left

• The Barracks were there during Dharma days. They weren't built by the Others.
• When the construction crew member comes to get Pierre Chang, he calls him by what is probably his real name, Dr. Chang rather than any of his aliases, including what he is going by for this film, Marvin Candle.
• Dan and Sawyer met for the first time, since Sawyer had been with Locke's group and then in the helicopter and Daniel had never been over to Locke's group.
• Kate was prepared to make a quick getaway with money in a hiding spot.

• Kate still has a picture of Jack and Aaron up in her house.
• As Sun makes her way to the ticket counter in the airport an announcement is heard over the loudspeaker that a flight is leaving at 8:15.
• Jack seems to be a new man now that he has a purpose (getting the Oceanic 6 back together and back to the island). He shaved his beard off and seems much more focused.
