Difficulties of Being a Straight A Student
Being a straight A student is not easy.
In fact, many people have problems passing a course, never mind getting a top tier mark.
Recalling days in my high school, and even in university in Toronto, Ontario, I am reminded of various things I did that helped me get good marks.
I went to high school in BA Catholic school.
A school that is actually known for drugs and problematic students.
And then went to university at University of Toronto.
So here are a few tips I learnt.
A healthy environment plays a very crucial role to having the title of a straight-A student.
No one will beg to differ that intrinsic mental power has always been the fundamental root of getting straight A's, but if there are constant distractions around you, then you will not be able to use your brain to its full potential.
If one's environment is nothing short of obstructive, then bid those A's goodbye.
Staying healthy is also key.
Remember though, that being unhealthy isn't limited to smoke-free surroundings, high-quality ventilation or spotless clean campus.
These factors can't be taken out of the equation, as these are very essential in the shaping of one's mood to fit the mold of a winner.
Although, in this article, I want to dig what's beneath the skin; factors that may be more deep-seated in contrast to what the eye can see.
In order to get straight-A's, a good support system is the key.
Staying away from bad influence friends, regardless of how cliché it may sound, is probably one of the most helpful and useful advice you can gain from.
Veering off the direction where the bad eggs are never fails to generate good outcomes.
But staying away from the rotten tomatoes is the easy part.
The hard part? The bullies.
Surprisingly, they can be found in both high school and university.
Being picked on often stems from lack of self-confidence in a social setting and even jealousy on the part of others.
Bullies, asides from having the bothersome knack for sidetracking students minding their own business in a corner, can do irreparable damage to one's self-esteem.
They seem to gravitate towards the helpless and the passive.
It can be "the popular kid on campus" saying something nasty about your appearance in a very loud voice that it's audible above the clamor of the students in the cafeteria.
It can be the dumb quarterback forcing a submissive nerd to get the former's long homework done as he has football practice after school.
These campus dramas where you're the victim can do hurt your confidence.
It may even reach a point where you may doubt your talents which ultimately will thwart you from living up to your full potential.
Always keep in mind that we are all equals, which means so as the education system.
Whatever they say...
brush it off and focus on your work.
Try to make friends with people who are of like mind and don't let others influence you in a negative fashion in what you do.
Getting straight A's isn't just about studying or taking notes during class.
Even the smartest person on earth will have a hard time if he/she is constantly distracted by these students, but that doesn't mean you can't do something about it, because you can.
The first step to getting straight A's is to clear your way of possible hazards and unnecessary clutter.
