How to Find a State EIN
- 1). Check your W-2 if you want to find the state EIN of the company that you work for. For 2010 W-2s it is located in box 15 "Employer's state ID number."
- 2). Check your pay stub if you want to find the state EIN of the company that you work for. Some companies print their state EIN on their pay stubs. Look for a nine digit number that is next to the words "State EIN" or "State Employer ID Number."
- 3). Search the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's website. Go to SEC.gov/edgar.shtml and click on "Company Filings." Click on "Company or fund name. . . ."
- 4). Type in the company's name that you wish to find the state EIN for in the "Company name" box. Click on the "Find Companies" button at the bottom. A list of documents for the company will be on the next screen.
- 5). Click on the "document" button next to the "10-K" document. On the next screen, click on the "form 10-K" red hyperlink. Look for the nine digit number at the top right-hand side of the page under "I.R.S Employer Identification No." This is the state EIN number.
