"The Warriors" Remake Names a Writer
Variety is reporting Terence Winter has been enlisted to write the script for the upcoming remake of the 1979 Walter Hill movie, "The Warriors." Tony Scott ("Man on Fire") is set to direct.
Michael Beck and James Remar starred in the original movie, which was adapted by Walter Hill and David Shaber from a novel by Sol Yurick. Released in 1979, the warring gangs of New York concept captivated audiences.
Scott's been linked to "The Warriors" since signing on to direct the new version two years ago. Scott's Scott Free Productions, MTV Films and Paramount Pictures are backing the project.
