Early Signs of Mange
- Dogs with mange begin displaying small, red hairless areas around the ears and eyes and lose hair.
- The skin becomes severely irritated, forming pimples, thick skin and puss; this begins at the ear tips.
- The irritated skin often becomes crusty and scaly around the eyes, mouth and front legs.
- The movement of the mites along with the irritated skin and infected sores lead to aggressive itching and scratching.
- Some milder forms of mange may appear as a serious case of dandruff.
