For a hardgainer, the nutritional aspect of the overall body building program is crucial.
Without adequate and correct foods, there is no way you will build muscle.
Here are three important points: 1 - Nutrient Packed Foods For hardgainers to really start building muscle, it is important that the right types of foods are consumed.
The food should be rich in calories and packed with nutrients.
The best combination  of foods would be slow releasing carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins minerals, fats and fibre.
Here are some examples of the type of foods that should be consumed: CarbohydratesPotatoes, rice, breads, oatmeal, yams beans, fruits and veggies.
  Proteins Chicken, lean beef, steak, cottage cheese, egg, whole milk and salmon.
FatsNuts, flax oil, olive oil, avocados and peanut butter.
  2 - Eat Frequently Not only must be eating the right types of foods to build muscle, but you need to be eating quite frequently, every 2 - 3 hours.
You must be saying that this is easy to say but difficult to execute.
Well at first yes, it takes some getting use to.
But with the right plans in place, you don't even realise it after a while.
You have to ensure you have your first meal within 15 to 30 minutes of waking up and has to be nutrient packed foods.
3 - Never Workout If You Are Hungry I know there are many hardgainers out there that have been in a hurry to get into the gym and neglected to have a proper meal prior to their workout.
I too have been guilty of this on my quest to build muscle.
Little did I realise at the time how big a mistake I was making.
As a hardgainer you should aim to have at least three meals in your system prior to your workouts.
This of course will be difficult if you workout is in the morning, in which case you should ensure your biggest meal is immediately after your workout.
