Celebrating a couple's 50th anniversary involves some serious planning. You need the right decorations, food and ambiance to create the perfect party for the perfect couple. But without some games to play at the table after everyone has given their speeches, you may find that the party becomes a little less entertaining. So stock up on some game ideas to make the party a great celebration. - Before the party guests arrive, write down on small pieces of paper awkward phrases that fit the celebratory theme of love, sayings such as "You never know when love's gonna come" and "Someday, I wonder if people will ever stop loving." When the party moves to the dinner table for the main course, tell everybody to lift up their plates and read their respective messages. Then, start up a conversation. Each person has to try and inject their phrase into the conversation without someone accusing them of using their message. Those who can successfully inject these phrases win the game and get prizes.
- Prepare for this game by coming up with some famous couples. Write each name in the couple down on an index card. For instance, you'd write "Marilyn Monroe" on one card and "Joe DiMaggio" on another card. When it comes time to play the game, tape a card to each person's forehead, without anyone seeing their own cards. Around the table, have people start asking each other "yes" or "no" questions to determine what person's written on their cards. After people find out who they are, they have to pair themselves up correctly with another person. The first pair to successfully match themselves wins the game.
- To take a nostalgic look back on the year when the couple first exchanged vows, you can play this table game. Prepare before the party by coming up with some trivia questions concerning their wedding year. For example, an easier question might be "Who was the president?" More difficult questions might be "Which movie won the Best Picture Oscar that year?" and "Who won the World Series that year?" To make the game a bit easier, give the players some possible answers to choose from. Give each player a point for every question answered correctly. The person with the most points at the end of the game wins.
