Overview and Biography of Jerry verDorn:

Mr. verDorn was accepted and planned to attend Northwestern University until a friend from Moorhead State University in Minnesota invited him for a visit. Jerry initially wanted to begin his studies as an English teacher but became interested in the theatre department at Moorhead and graduated as an aspiring actor.

With his parents’ full support, Jerry followed his dreams.

Landing the role of Ross James Marler on Guiding Light in 1979, he remained on the soap for 26 years until October 11th 2005 until severe budget cuts released his character from the long running soap. Jerry was hired on One Life to Live and made the smooth transition as the wealthy Clint Buchanan two weeks later on October 25th, 2005.

Mr. verDorn has appeared in many theatre roles early in his career and later television movies followed. In ‘The Cradle Will Fall’, he starred as Ross Marler in a made-for-TV-movie with several of his Guiding Light costars in supporting roles. He later played the role of “Hoss” which was a comedic lookalike of Ross but with a complete opposite personality!

Mr. verDorn has been married to his wife, Bethea since 1977 and they have two sons together, Jacob and Peter.
