    • 1). Pick up a large wooden cutting board at a kitchen supply store like Williams Sonoma, Bed Bath & Beyond or Smart & Final.

    • 2). If you don't already have one in your craft supplies, buy or borrow a woodburning tool. You can find them at craft stores like Michaels or in your crafty friend's tool box!

    • 3). On the back of the board etch a reminder of this year's celebration, e.g. "Smith family Thanksgiving 2008."

    • 4). Extend the tradition by using the board for many family dinners and special events. Be sure to etch something on the back each time-and voila! You have a family heirloom that helps to tell the story of your social circle.
