How to Hand-Bead a Sweater
- 1). Make a knot in the end of the thread, then push the needle up from the underside, through the sweater fabric at the point where you want the first bead.
- 2). Thread the bead onto the needle and push it down the thread so that it rests against the sweater.
- 3). Push the needle back through the sweater fabric to the underside, then through again to the outer side in the same place you made the first stitch.
- 4). Push the needle through the hole in the bead again, so that you make two stitches going through the bead. Take the needle back through the sweater again to the underside.
- 5). Move the needle to the position where you want to place the second bead, then push the needle up through the sweater fabric from the underside at this position.
- 6). Make two stitches through the bead as before to firmly secure the bead to the sweater before moving on to the position for the next bead.
- 7). Tie off the thread every five beads by making three stitches on top of each other on the underside of the sweater to secure the thread. Re-attach the thread by first knotting it, then pushing it through the sweater from the underside to continue beading.
