How to Install a Moen Tub Faucet
- 1). Shut off the water in the house by closing the main water valve. Open a faucet all the way to make sure the water flow has completely stopped. Remove any old faucet pieces if you are installing a replacement faucet.
- 2). Screw in the water valves that came with the faucet using an adjustable wrench. Screw the chrome sleeve that came with the faucet over the valve until it is hand-tight.
- 3). Side the water-control handle onto the valve assembly so that it fits firmly in place. Tighten the screw that holds the handles in place, either at the bottom of the handle or in the middle of it.
- 4). If the pipe has threads, wrap thread tape them. Twist the spout clockwise until the back of the faucet touches the tub or the wall, using a cloth and adjustable wrench to turn the spout if necessary.
- 5). If there are no threads on the pipe, slide the spout onto it. Tighten the screw on the back bottom of the spout using an Allen wrench, securing the spout to the pipe.
- 6). Turn on the water to the faucet by opening the house's shutoff water valve. Check the faucet assembly for any leaks.
