If you are reading this it is probably because your closet looks like there is a wild badger living inside it. Luckily, you're on the right spot. There are plenty of ways to clean and re-organize your closet and I'm about to share with you some of my methods. But before you start, it is advisable to clean and tidy up your room as well. You don't want other things to be in the way. So here's a good way to clean your closet and leave it odourless.

First things first, you'll need to empty out all your clothes and other belongings that are stores in the closet. This is actually a good chance to review all your clothing and see if there are clothes that do not fit you or are out fashion you do not need them. Now, if you find any clothes that you don't need or don't want any more – don't just throw them away. You can donate them to some orphanage or sell them online or in a second hand store. Carefully review all your clothes and fold them somewhere on the side where they won't be in your way because you'll be moving around a lot. Now it is time to clean your closet thoroughly. You see, there is no need to use any commercial cleaning products. Not just that they are very expensive but they contain some pretty harsh chemicals that are bad for the environment and for you as well. There are plenty of green cleaning products you can use. Vinegar is a good way to go! Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing equal parts of water and white vinegar into a larger bowl or a buckets. Do not underestimate the power of the vinegar. It contains acetic acid which makes it the perfect sanitiser. Dampen a clean cloth and wipe every surface of your closet. Make sure to get the doors and the top as well. The top is the place where usually a lot of dust gathers because it is high out of our reach and we simply forget to dust it. I think that this method is superior to every other because after the cleaning solution evaporates – it leaves all surfaces odourless and also it is really cheap.

Another useful method involves the use of vodka. What, you didn't know that vodka is good for anything else than making Bloody Mary and Screwdrivers? You can dampen a cloth and thoroughly wipe every surface of your closet. Another place that people forget that needs attention is at the top of the doors. That space also gets dusty and dirty, you know – so don't skip on it! Vodka also does a great job when it comes to leaving surfaces odourless and when you're done cleaning – why don't you prepare yourself a little cocktail for the well done job? If you're out of vinegar or vodka, I guess you can use a simple solution of water and liquid soap but I am not a big fan of this one.
