How to Camp in Half Moon Bay, California
- 1). Go online to the Reserve America website (see Resources) or call them at 800-444-PARK (7275) at least 48 hours and up to seven months before your scheduled camping trip to make a campsite reservation. Select a campsite and confirm your reservation at Half Moon Bay. Print out a copy of your reservation voucher or record your confirmation number to take with you to the park.
- 2). Pack all essential equipment before you leave for Half Moon Bay, including a tent if tent camping, food, cooking utensils, firewood and rain gear. Pack any food items that may spoil in a cooler with ice blocks or ice packs.
- 3). Arrive at Half Moon Bay State Beach on the day of your reservation after 2 p.m. to check in. Half Moon Bay is located 1/2 mile west of Highway 1 on Kelly Avenue, Half Moon Bay, California.
- 4). Present your reservation voucher or confirmation number and a photo ID when you arrive at the park and pay campsite fees.

Back your vehicle into your campsite and begin camp set up immediately. First pitch your tent, according to manufacturer directions, and then prepare your fire pit.
