Why Do You Need To Be The First Teacher?
I am sure you heard the saying €Education Starts at Home€. Mothers who are fortunate enough to witness every first, first smile, first giggle, the moment she opened her eyes, that is priceless. Planned or unplanned, every pregnancy is a gift. Mothers have the whole nine months to prepare for the big day. It is natural to want everything to be perfect, every detail to be thorough. You cannot wait for the right time to teach your little tot her first word and the ABCs and the 123s. Truly every mother even if she did not took up any teaching course, would gladly welcome the chance to teach anything that would prepare the child face the world. So it is but proper to call any mommy out there €teacher mommy€.
We need to be the first teacher of our kids because we are the one they would trust eventually. The mother-child bonding is naturally there that is why for a certain period of time until they are toddlers; we are the only person apart from dad they can trust. We do not want them to be clueless when they start going to the daycare center or pre-school. Some would say that the reflection of child's future depends on the upbringing of every parent in the family. For some, it is not true. But in general, whatever parent work for, it is for his children. Every decision, every change in the parent's life will involve his being a father or a mother to his kid.
It is in the home that we get to teach our kids the right manner of treating other people, especially elder people. Respect and compassion towards other but the core of his personality should be strong and not giving up. It is hard for every mother to cushion our kids when the world out there is harsh and cruel. At least, it is comforting for them to know that they still have home to go into when other people hurt them. Moms it is important to teach our kids the essentials of life. Teach them to bring the dishes to the sink after eating, bring the dirty clothes to the laundry, and put their toys in the bin after playing and brush their teeth before sleeping. It is in the toddler years that they would need a lot help from us because they are developing. They would need every ounce of guidance we could afford to give them. We should be the first teacher because it is the home that their foundation in life will be formed. We need to brace them up to be the best they can be. Teach them the ABCs in life and 123s to survive. We do not know what is waiting there for them. It is okay to bring up some fairy tales, it is for kids. But it is important to differentiate fairy tales from reality. We don't know what's in store for them. Better be prepared when the witch starts to cast the bad spell.
