Steamboat Springs, Colorado has been a popular summer resort for more than 100 years with travelers enjoying the town's offerings of hunting, fishing, and the hot springs for which it is named. Today those offerings have expanded to include a trio of championship golf courses, horseback riding, biking, hiking and a tennis center. With many activities to offer family vacationers, there are also various events planned throughout the year. Choices for Steamboat Springs lodging includes hotels, condominiums, townhouses, private homes and cabins. Guests can enjoy the many things to see and do nearby. While Steamboat Springs' skiing might be more famous than its summer events, there's no shortage of things to do in the warmer months.

Other activity offerings include the pro rodeo series, scenic gondola rides, the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, Fish Creek Falls, Steamboat Lake State Park and Stagecoach State Park.

There are also seasonal festivals throughout the summer. From late June through August, visitors can enjoy the Strings in the Mountains Festival of Music.

The Yampa River Festival and Paddling Life Invitational takes place in May, featuring kayak races, raft racing, a tube rodeo and more. Memorial Day weekend offers the Paddling Life Open where male and female kayakers compete for cash and prizes. June brings an annual marathon, where runners from across the world enjoy the scenery and the people. It is followed by an auto show featuring more than 500 car owners. The Bicycle Tour of Colorado will make its way into town in late June for a two-night stay.

One of the longest running events in Colorado is the Cowboys' Roundup Days and July 4th Celebration. It has been hosted by Steamboat Springs for more than a century and includes fireworks as part of the celebration. Vacationers can see more than 40 hot air balloons take over the skies above town in July for the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo. That weekend typically also features the area's biggest arts and crafts festival. July also offers the Tour de Steamboat, a road bike race featuring a Colorado cycling event, often in the same weekend as the Steamboat Lake Sprint Triathlon.

The All Arts Festival is in August, highlighting the arts and culture of theĀ  area. It showcases dance, vocal, musical, visual, literary and culinary arts. The Steamboat Olympic Triathlon at Catamount is also held in August, giving late summer visitors a chance to cheer on the triathletes.

Labor Day Weekend brings the Annual Wild West Air Fest and the following weekend wraps up summer festivities with the Annual Yampa River Rubber Ducky Race.
