If you are just starting out you may perform all the functions that I stated above or hire someone that can do multi-tasking, however as your internet business is becoming larger and larger you may want to hire a team.

Tracking the websites' performance will help you tweak it to optimize its performance and achieve your business goals.
Other things that you may need are tracking software (Google analytics will do), keyword optimization tools, Search Engine Optimization tools, etc.
