There are several factors that will influence your golf swing.
I want to concentrate on a few of the more important tips for improving a golf swing and expanding distance.
Rhythm is often overlooked in golf and yet it plays a vital part in every swing.
I've found that by taking a short pause at the change from your backswing to your downswing, you can add some distance to your shot.
Beginners will always make some incredibly lucky shots using awful techniques and will then incorporate these methods into their swing.
Just because it worked once, this does not mean that you will always be so lucky.
I've seen beginners using their wrist to add more force into their shots and this will sometimes work but most times it will not.
Don't get swayed by bad golf swing advice.
Power originates from your leg muscles.
If you really want to add more power to a swing, you will need to learn to use your legs and body correctly.
Another tip to remember is that golf ball height does not always equal distance.
If you hit your ball hard into the wind, it will simply begin to spin and travel higher, not further.
Instead, if you hit the ball low, you will have better control over it.
To take on a breeze, use a longer club and take a relaxed swing.
Your body works together as a single unit.
Any unnecessary movement will cause a chain reaction and this is the main cause of slicing.
When your left knee collapses on your backswing, your shoulder drops and causes your hips to move.
If you concentrate on having your left knee move outwards on your backswing, this should solve this problem, thereby improving your golf swing.
