    • 1). Get to know who you are as a person. Knowing what your strengths and weaknesses are will help you determine how to proceed with your dreams. Your own morality, spirituality and values will guide you as you pursue happiness for your life. (See reference 2)

    • 2). Develop your personal power by learning from your mistakes. Having the ability to grab something positive out of a negative situation will enable you to move forward in life. Dwelling on mistakes you have made in your life inhibits personal growth. Forgive yourself and move on. (See reference 2)

    • 3). Establish goals for yourself. Decide what you want and work towards it. Small steps toward your goal each day will allow you to succeed. When you set your goals you are really setting your intention for good things to happen in your life. In essence, you are allowing a door to open and stepping across the threshold. (See reference 3)

    • 4). Work with passion and purpose. If you are going to a job everyday trying to get more money and things but hate your job you are not working with passion and purpose. Love the work you do. Don't just quit your job; have a plan of action. Find what you are passionate about and figure out a way to turn that into your full-time job. (See reference 4, Purpose and Passion )

    • 5). Fill your days with family and friends. To often people feel empty because of being lonely. Connect with family, have dinner together and play games together. Talk about dreams or how your day went. Plan vacations with friends, camping or hiking with your group will only bring you closer. (See reference 5)

    • 6). Meditate or pray daily to help you connect with yourself and/or your god. Faith in a higher power has brought enrichment and meaning to billions of people on a global level. Whether you are thanking Allah, God, Jesus or the Goddess the act of faith you show when praying will bring you strength and a belief that all will be well. (Personal Experience)

    • 7). Set your house in order by balancing the checkbook, paying off the debt, and keeping track of your daily spending. Money will not make you happier but it will lessen the stress if you are living within your means and saving for the future. (See reference 3)

    • 8). Volunteer your time. The best way to feel fulfilled is to give back to your community. Working in a soup kitchen will allow you to really value your own life, as will helping the homeless. Seeing true poverty has a way of showing you your true wealth. (Personal experience)
