Why Are Roof Top Tents The Best Way To Go?
Camping is one of the greatest and most relaxing experiences you can go on without spending a ton of money.
Some of the problems with camping come in the actual housing of your journey.
We all know that tents are a wonderful way to build a shelter and a quick way to set up a room for the outdoors that will protect you from bugs, the weather, and to some degree the cold or heat.
Tents tend to hold in your body heat (if zipped up and tightly closed in all areas) because the plastic will reflect it and so long as it's closed your body heat becomes the heating unit.
More than one person makes this more efficient and effective.
So why then would an improvement need to be made on the tent design itself if it's worked for so many years? Because there are some things to consider where protection, the base of the tent, and comfort are considerations you need to make.
There is a relatively new concept being used with the vehicle itself to give you a "leg up" on the old tent design.
What is it? It's simply brilliant.
The concept is roof top tents.
Let me elaborate on that a bit.
Roof top tents are what they sound like - but not for the roof or your home that is likely slanted and unsafe.
This is the roof of your vehicle! You have your car, truck, jeep, or utility vehicle, with you so why not utilize it effectively to give your tent a better look, feel, and utility? How it works is, for some models of which there are many, is essentially you bolt the roof top tent down to the vehicle's roof or back end.
For trucks you can utilize the bed, the area above the bed (the rim of the bed).
For cars you can utilize the roof, but make sure your cars roof can handle putting racks on it and can sustain a great deal or weight afterward.
Cars, trucks, jeeps, etc...
must have the capability of putting a bunch of stuff on it without it caving in.
The roof top tents utilize this rack technology to mount (temporarily or permanently- up to you) a tent assembly that can pop up instantly and be ready in seconds.
This is especially convenient when you arrive at your campsite destination and find it pouring rain! You can pop up the tent that lays flat and dormant until needed (looks like a storage compartment on your car during the day, and can become a full sized tent when you need shelter! You can also store your blankets, pillows, etc...
in there so when you pop it up no assembly is required at all! This is also a great way to elevate you so you feel more secure (especially if your always terrified of bugs, dogs, wolves etc...
that can visit you in the night.
Your safer off the ground and avoid any kind of flooding that may happen.
The base of the tent is also more secure than bumpy as with the ground floor tents so it's a much better feel.
In a way it's like a portable motor home without all the amenities (sink, bathroom etc...
)!
