Clean the entire surface of the tub or sink with a good emulsifying cleaner, such as the ones used to remove old built-up floor wax. This will help eliminate any residue that may hinder the bonding product. Remove the emulsifying cleaner according to the manufacturer's directions. - 2). Clean the surface again with a citrus-based cleaner, and dry it with an absorbent cloth.
- 3). Clean the surface a third time with a soft cloth and alcohol to ensure that it's completely clean.
- 4). Sand the surface to be refinished lightly and evenly with fine grit sandpaper to rough up the surface and facilitate good adhesion of the bonding material. Wipe off any dust from the surface with a clean, dry cloth.
- 5). Cover all surfaces that are not to be refinished with plastic wrap secured with masking tape. The plastic wrap works very well for this because it will mold itself to the shape of the objects you cover, such as the faucets.
- 6). Apply an even coat of bonding material with a soft cloth following the manufacturer's instructions. Allow the bond to set.
- 7). Mix the primer following the directions on the container, and fill the spray gun container with the mixture.
- 8). Assemble the spray gun and test the sprayer on an inconspicuous place before proceeding with the application the surface to be refinished.
- 9). Apply two coats of the primer to the entire surface using a steady to and fro motion in order to achieve an even coating. Allow plenty of time for it to dry completely.

Clean out the paint gun container and mix the topcoat according to the manufacturer's instructions. Follow the same procedure as for the primer, but increase the number of coats to three. After the third coat has been applied, allow the paint to cure and set for 24 up to 48 hours, then enjoy your renewed porcelain finish.
