Picture This: Standard Sizes of Picture Frames
One way is through photo albums.
Photo albums basically turn our collection of photos into a kind of scrap book or simply a book that tells stories of our wealthy past by means of pictures.
Another way is through what we call the picture frames.
These are meant to be displayed and thus, relive the memories in those photos all over and over again.
But just this once, let's talk about frames.
The most common frames employ the following design: square or rectangular, with a stand or a hook behind it, and a glass covering on the front.
Frames are made so that photos could simply be slid inside the partition between the glass covering and the base, on which the back of the photo rests.
And then, once the photo is in position, the frame could either be hung on the wall or propped up on a desk.
Standard Frame Sizes We are most likely to find standard sized frames when we go in search of ready made picture frames.
Ready made picture frames are basically those frames that have dimensions already set by the manufacturer.
According to industry experts, the standard sizes of ready made frames these days are as follows: 4 " by 6", 5 inches by 7 inches, 8 inches by 10 inches, 11 inches by 14 inches, and 16 inches by 20 inches.
There are two newest additions to this line of standard frame sizes, and these are frames that come in dimensions of 3 and a half inches by 5 inches, as well as 6 inches by 8 inches.
Still other picture frame manufacturers make picture frames that have dimensions of 18 inches by 24 inches, 20 " by 24", 24 inches by 30 inches, and 24 inches by 36 inches.
We might probably notice that these dimensions are for frames that are made to be rectangular in shape, and not square or any other shape.
When it comes to square picture frames, the most common ones are those with dimensions of 5 inches by 5 inches, 8 inches by 8 inches, and 12 inches by 12 inches.
There are also circular and oval picture frames, the sizes of which are resplendent of their width.
Now, if some of us might be looking for frames of another shape, then it is most advisable that they look for professional frame makers instead to customize their frames for them.
