    Curved Dash Oldsmobile

    • The first gasoline-powered car in commercial production in the United States was the Curved Dash Oldsmobile, made by Ransom E. Olds. It was sold for a whopping $650 and sold 600 models in it's first year of 1901. The number of cars sold in subsequent years grew rapidly. This first Oldsmobile had a three horse-power engine and ran on gasoline when electric cars were becoming increasingly popular.

    Ford A-Model Runabout

    • Henry Ford, whose legacy in the car industry still lives on today, produced this first model with the Ford Motor Company in 1903. It closely resembled the Cadillac from the same year, as Ford himself designed that Cadillac model which influenced the design of the A. The first Ford A-Model was sold on July 23, signifying the beginning of Ford's company with 1,700 in production that year.

    Ford Model T

    • One of the best-known classic cars is the Ford Model T. Built in 1909, this vehicle came in nine body styles and was produced until 1927, creating more than 15 million of these models. It is recognized as the best-selling car in history. During the production of the Model T, Ford invented the assembly line production method that soon became very beneficial to the automobile industry.
