Medicare has two sectors or parts called Part A and Part B. Part A allows you to have hospital coverage. Part B allows the participant to have general medical coverage, but also requires a monthly premium to be paid to utilize it. Both Part A and Part B will begin in the first month that the person turns age sixty five.

If the person is already getting Social Security benefits, it is equally important that they understand that they automatically qualify for Medicare Part A because they are entitled to it.
