Here’s a sampling of some of the free events Albuquerque has to offer in September. Check back for updates, and email me with events to add.

Cultural Treasures
The live variety of music and dance on Thursdays through Sundays includes performers dressed in native costumes. See it at the Old Town gazebo and plazas.

UNM Campus Observatory
Every Friday night, enjoy a viewing of the night sky through telescopes.

St. Esteban Feast Day
Acoma celebrates the feast day of their patron saint, San Esteban, after which their mission, San Esteban del Rey, was named. There is no tour, but the village is open to the public. Shuttles are available from Sky City Casino Hotel to the Sky City Cultural Center. Although the event is free, donations are welcome.

First Friday ARTScrawl
With over 20 different galleries throughout the city participating, you can choose which ones to visit to find out what's happening with guilds, individual artists and ongoing shows. It happens the first Friday of the month.

Hispanic Heritage Days
There will be live entertainment by Hispanic performers and special Centennial performances. It's happening in Old Town.

Kewa Arts & Crafts Market
The arts and crafts market at Kewa (formerly Santo Domingo) Pueblo will have native pottery, jewelry, dances and lots of delicious native foods.

We Art the People Folk Festival and Parade
The annual festival features more than 100 folk art vendors, music, dance, arts and crafts, and at 11 a.m., the Giant Puppet Samba Parade.

Remembrance to Those Who Have Fallen
The New Mexico Veterans Memorial will be open for those who wish to pay tribute to the many who lost their lives on September 11.
