Space Saving Trophy Display Ideas
- Use some smart techniques for displaying a lot of trophies.steel trophy image by Paul Moore from Fotolia.com
A full trophy case is a testament to victory and success. But as repeated wins lead to more and more trophies, finding room to display them all can be a problem, especially if your display area or trophy case is small. Try a few space-saving ideas to combat this problem. - Rotate between which trophies you have on display.soccer, football trophy image by Christopher Meder from Fotolia.com
Instead of trying to display all trophies at the same time, rotate them. This technique saves spaces and also breaks up monotony. Separate trophies into Group A and Group B, or however many groups you need, and set out only one group at a time, switching groups once a month or every other month. If these are trophies from the whole school, be sure each group represents all winners: the debate team, the chess club, the baseball and basketball teams, and others. If there is a trophy of special importance, such as a club or team winning state champs, leave that one displayed year-round. - Use only newer trophies in the display case.medals and trophy for soccer image by Flashon Studio from Fotolia.com
Another method for making space in a trophy case that's getting too crowded or freeing up some room on display shelves that are looking too cluttered is to remove old trophies. Pack away any that are more than three years old, or five years old, or 10 years old, for instance. Conversely, instead of packing them away, you could move them to the library or a study or other area, and use the trophy case only for showcasing recent wins. You can also institute the in-and-out rule: for every new trophy you put out, take away one old one. - Consider a bulletin board instead of a trophy case.Bulletin Board isolated on white image by TekinT from Fotolia.com
In areas really cramped for space, consider getting rid of the bulky trophy case altogether. In its place, hang a space-saving bulletin board displaying photos of all the trophies with the students or clubs or teams who won them. Use a colorful trophy border and a title such as "The Champions" or "Winners never quit!" Or, get alliterative and incorporate the school mascot: "Winning Wildcats," "Conquering Cougars," "Successful Spartans" or "Victorious Vikings." Another idea, instead of awarding bulky trophies, is using smaller plaques, medals and award certificates.
