OK, so we are all excited as we have just brought home our new puppy and in all that excitement, we sometimes forget how important house breaking a puppy is and the longer we leave it, the more difficult it will become to house train our new puppy.
Toilet Training A Dog Has To Start Immediately: Once our puppy has spent a few days within our household, it dawns on us very quickly that we need to start with our puppy house breaking as we spend a lot of time cleaning the mess that they have left behind.
Also, we don't want to spend a portion of each day walking around the house trying to find where those 'interesting' smells are coming from.
Puppy House Training Tips: When you first start house breaking your puppy, it is advisable that you confine them to a small play area within the day so that they still have the room to play and build their strength but do not have the run of the house and you are then left to find little surprises every now and then as they "make" wherever they feel like.
Be patient as like a small baby, a puppy does not have the ability to hold it in and it is not something that is going to be taught overnight.

Crate training a puppy is one of the most helpful aspects of housebreaking.
When you bring home your puppy, have a small, ventilated plastic or metal crate prepared for him to sleep in at night and nap in during the day.
IMPORTANT: The crate should be large enough for the puppy to lay down in, but small enough to not have room to potty in.
Puppies will not sleep where they make, so the goal is to not give them room to do so, and they may struggle at first, they will soon learn to hold it until you take them outside.
So far all this seems pretty straight forward and when followed, we will soon have our new puppy "making" outside and not in the home.
Though the problem is, how exactly can our dogs tell us when they have to go "make" outside as most of us haven't actually managed to grasp the language, "bark?.
