Hints for the Game "Turok"
- You'll be fighting plenty of dinosaurs in "Turok."A real Dinosaur image by Poleboy G from Fotolia.com
"Turok" is the most recent game in the "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter" series that originated on the Nintendo 64 game console back in the mid-90s. It is available on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. In the game, you play as Turok, a Marine who has reached a desolate planet inhabited by prehistoric beasts. Here, you must battle not only the dinosaurs, but an evil corporation, as well. The journey can be tough, at times, but there are plenty of hints and tips that can make things a little easier. - If you want to run faster, simply equip Turok with his knife instead of a pistol or rifle. This will make him run almost a third faster.
- In story mode, you can become almost completely invisible around enemies by simply crouching in the grass, which can be done by pressing down on the right thumb stick. If you crouch long enough, they'll even forget that you're there and go about their business.
- When fighting dinosaurs like the raptors, the easiest way to kill them is with the knife instead of a gun. Not only will you save ammunition, but if done properly, the knife will deliver a one-hit kill on most medium-sized dinosaurs.
- The giant scorpions that inhabit the planet can pose a dangerous threat and are difficult to kill because of their exoskeleton. To get around this, blast one with a shotgun. It will flip over momentarily and you can then stab its underbelly with the knife for an easy kill.
- The final boss in the game is a Tyrannosaurus Rex that can be defeated by using a system of flares and turrets. There are several turrets scattered around the perimeter of the arena that can do considerable damage, but unfortunately you can't remain at them long before it attacks you. So simply get out the flare gun and distract the Rex while you shoot at it. When it turns around and comes at you, shoot off another flare and head to another turret. Repeat these steps until the Rex falls and you can stab its eye out with the knife, defeating it.
- You can unlock a harder difficulty setting for those of you looking for an extra challenge by completing the game once on the normal or hard difficulty settings.
