    • 1). Cut the electricity at the circuit box for the existing ceiling fixture. Access the fixture from your ladder and remove it, taking out the mounting screws with a screwdriver and disconnecting the wiring.

    • 2). Hold your angled ceiling fan installation bracket against the exposed electrical box on the ceiling, lining up the screw holes between the bracket and the box. Mount the box with the provided screws. The exposed wires from the electrical box should hang down through the open middle of the bracket.

    • 3). Adjust the bracket so the bottom is level, using your small level to assess it.

    • 4). Put the fan together on the floor, assembling everything except the fan blades. The wiring for the fan should run through the down-rod and come out the top of it.

    • 5). Set the fan unit on top of the ladder. Wire it to the house circuit by connecting the like-colored wires from the fan to the electrical box (white to white, black to black). Make the connections with your wire caps, wrapping each connection in electrician’s tape.

    • 6). Wrap the bare copper grounding wire from the house circuit onto the green grounding screw in the fan unit. Tighten the screw.

    • 7). Tuck all the wire connections into the electrical box and mount the top of the extension rod onto the fan bracket, using the provided screws.

    • 8). Turn on the electricity at the circuit box.
