Is it Really Possible to Reverse Hair Loss?
The drawback with this though is that it can be extremely expensive because it can cost between $3 and $10 per graft and most people tend to need anywhere between 500 and 2000 grafts; additionally the surgery may not work or even look natural depending on the quality of surgeon who carries out the work.
But it is possible to reverse hair loss by other means which does not have such a big up front cost and can make your hair grow again naturally.
This has come about because studies have found that there is a certain blend of minerals and herbs which when combined with something called minoxidil can stop the thinning process of the hair and encourage new growth.
If you are unsure why people go bald, there are many causes but the main one is pattern baldness and this occurs when a person has inherited the gene that makes their scalp sensitive to a chemical that is produced in the body called DHT.
This chemical is made by the fusion of testosterone and an enzyme known as 5 alpha reductase.
So, to stop the hair falling out, it of course makes sense that either the DHT needs to be stopped from reaching the follicle or the production of DHT needs to be interfered with; and that can be done with the following items:-
- Zinc - an important mineral for many areas of the body, but for reversing hair loss it is important because it inhibits the production of 5 alpha reductase.
- Nettle Root - This herb has properties which enable it to mop up the free testosterone in the body.
- Saw Palmetto - This also inhibits the production of 5 alpha reductase and because of this there is less prostatic DHT in the blood
Minoxidil can be applied to the scalp topically and it prevents any excess DHT that is produced from reaching the follicles.
It also helps reverse hair loss because it improves circulation in the scalp which is essential for new hair growth.
Also essential for the new hair growth are vitamin B6, biotin and magnesium.
