How to Sharpen a Homelite Ranger Chainsaw
- 1). Place the chainsaw on a sturdy bench. Mount the file guide and file on one saw tooth by sliding the round file into the curved part of the tooth. Make sure the round file is snug against the sharp edge of the tooth and the guide is level on top of the chain.
- 2). File the tooth in a right-to-left motion across the saw blade. Apply pressure on the forward stroke and release pressure on the backward stroke. File the tooth until any damage is removed and the edge is bright and feels sharp to the touch.
- 3). File all remaining teeth on the chain.
