Did The Recent Government Shutdown Fight Hurt The GOP?
If you watch the main stream media this week you might be thinking the GOP is about to implode.
You may even think the Republican Party is going to disappear in the 2014 election! Even Republican strategists like Karl Rove are on board with the Progressives, stating publicly he believes Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee have hurt the GOP.
Liberal journalists and reporters are overjoyed at President Obama's seemingly huge victory against House Republicans, ending the partial government shutdown with basically no change to the Affordable Care Act.
It may seem as though the GOP didn't win this "political battle," but this was not a fight about politics.
It was a battle over fairness.
Many Americans already are being moved from full time to part time workers as employers adjust for added costs from the President's signature bill.
Many middle class Americans have seen their health care premium costs double over the last five years.
People with pre-existing conditions are finally understanding Obamacare only grants them access to purchase a healthcare premium and that premium can cost up to $3000 a month! Could you afford that? That doesn't even include annual deductibles and co-pays.
Poor people will soon realize the government exchanges only grant them access to purchase a healthcare premium.
It's not free healthcare.
These poor people with have to pay annual deductibles and co-pays to actually receive the healthcare and the sticker shock I believe will outrage many.
Now let's mention the fact that President Obama granted waivers to big businesses and politicians from Obamacare but he's still mandating individuals purchase a healthcare premium.
Think about that for a moment.
He didn't require big business to help their workers purchase healthcare, but rather he mandated the worker purchase a premium or they'll be fined by the IRS.
Republicans who fought to make Obamacare fair for individual Americans should be proud.
The President, Democrats in Congress, and the main stream media now own Obamacare.
No different then when they owned the anti-Islam Benghazi YouTube video.
Remember that? All of these individuals supported a default over the Affordable Care Act, with promises of declined health care costs and improved medical care for everyone from teenagers to senior citizens.
The average uninformed voter will soon learn the truth about Obamacare when it hits their wallets and paychecks.
When they get denied certain healthcare benefits because the government doesn't see it as cost effective.
When a senior gets denied life saving care because the government needs to save money.
When they get their tax return money confiscated because they didn't purchase medical insurance that year.
When they wait 6-12 months for an appointment to see a specialist.
When their federal income taxes increase 4% in 2014.
I'm proud of Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.
I'm also proud of their fellow Republicans who stood strong with them.
Republican Congressmen vowed during 2012 elections to fight against Obamacare and House Republicans did the best they could.
They didn't lay over like Senators Lyndsey Graham or John McCain.
President Obama never gives up and neither does the Democrat Party.
To win the hearts of Americans you need to have a passion in the ideas you preach and actually defend them when hard decisions need to be made.
Republicans shouldn't run from principles to satisfy ABC News or CNN.
The best thing we can do as Republicans is to continue to spread the truth about the way our economy functions, taxes, and government overreach.
If we keep on the truth, when President Obama's policies fail in the future we will be vindicated.
Unlike Senator John McCain who will be seen in history as someone who supported the President's ideas since he simply went along with the Liberals.
This undermines McCain's future credibility.
I guarantee during the next few weeks main stream media outlets will continue to brand the Republicans as terrorists or the doers of evil.
Uninformed voters will always believe what the Liberal news says, so polls will always lean towards Democrats.
But this moment will soon be forgotten.
People will soon turn their attention to the failures of Obamacare and wonder to themselves, "Democrats were really willing to default our nation for this?" Or, " Why is President Obama forcing me to pay this much for medical insurance?"
