How to Change a Jacuzzi Filter

    J-400 Series

    • 1). Turn the spa off at your home's breaker panel.

    • 2). Turn the filter lid counterclockwise with your hand to detach it.

    • 3). Reach into the filter bucket and lift out the polishing bag. This will expose the small Proclear filter.

    • 4). Rotate the filter counterclockwise with your hand, and lift the filter out of the bucket and discard.

    • 5). Install the replacement filter by placing it into the bucket and threading it on clockwise with your hand.

    • 6). Place the polishing bag back into the filter bucket, and turn it clockwise to lock it into place.

    • 7). Turn the filter lid clockwise until it latches into place. Don't over-tighten.

    • 8). Lift the skimmer assembly from the filter bucket.

    • 9). Rotate this second filter cartridge counterclockwise with your hand. Detach the center cap and chemical dispenser and set these aside. Dispose of the old filter cartridge.

      Attach the center cap and chemical dispenser to the replacement filter cartridge.

      Thread the filter cartridge into the skimmer assembly by turning it clockwise with your hand.

      Set the skimmer assembly back into the filter bucket.

      Turn on the spa again.

    J-300 Series

    • 1). Turn the spa off at your home's breaker panel.

    • 2). Lift the filter cover to unsnap it, then tilt it forward.

    • 3). Slide the skimmer bag off the clips on the filter cover. Clean the debris that has collected inside the bag by rinsing it out with water.

    • 4). Grab the handle on top each of the two filter cartridges, and turn it counterclockwise with your hand.

    • 5). Remove the filter cartridges from the skimmer well and discard.

    • 6). Dunk your replacement filter cartridges in the spa water. Angle the threaded end upward to get rid of any air bubbles.

    • 7). Slide the cartridges back into the skimmer well, remembering to keep the cartridges submerged under water. Turn the cartridge handles clockwise with your hand to lock them into place. Don't over-tighten.

    • 8). Secure the clean skimmer bag back onto the filter cover using the attached clips, and close the filter cover, snapping it back into place.

    • 9). Turn on the spa again.

    J-230, J-270 and J-280 Models

    • 1). Turn the spa off at your home's breaker panel.

    • 2). Push the filter skimmer cover up to unsnap it, then lift it away to remove it.

    • 3). Slide the skimmer bag off the clips on the cover door. Clean the debris that has collected inside the bag by rinsing it out with water.

    • 4). Grab the handle on top the filter cartridge, and turn it counterclockwise with your hand.

    • 5). Remove the filter cartridge from the skimmer well, and discard.

    • 6). Dunk your replacement filter cartridge in the spa water. Angle the threaded end upward to get rid of any air bubbles.

    • 7). Slide the cartridge back into the skimmer well, remembering to keep the cartridge submerged under water. Turn the cartridge handle clockwise with your hand to lock it into place. Don't over-tighten.

    • 8). Secure the clean skimmer bag back onto the filter skimmer cover using the attached clips, and close the filter cover by sliding it down until it snaps back into place.

    • 9). Turn on the spa again.
