FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Colleen writes: “I sit and watch in disbelief that the TPTB think soap fans are imbeciles. We are pretty much watching the buildup of history with a character of seven years of Natalie being strong, street wise, loyal to a fault with a love for her family, to this idiotic love sick individual that helped a stranger defrauded her family and whose actions resulted in the death of her brother in law.

All this was for the sake of redeeming Jared. This whole storyline is just pissing me off from start to finish. We as fans who watch daily are supposed to forget that only back in April we saw John in Natalie’s office when she found the tape and talked about the person who defrauded her family would pay, but after Jared professed his love for her all common sense went out the window. No one else but Natalie seems to ever pay for their mistakes. I am sure I am alone, but as sad as it was because she lost Nash and she has children, I cannot really feel that sorry for Jessica after how she has behaved prior to this because her actions are accountable for bringing Jared to town in the first place. It was a domino affect and her part in it was the biggest for bringing that loser to town in the first place.”

Dear Colleen: I agree and have said many times that TPTB never give Natalie a chance. She takes one step forward and two steps back. I definitely remember those scenes with John where Natalie swore she’d make the person who defrauded her family pay and I also felt that she let Jared off the hook way too easily when he professed his love for her.

It seemed like in one breath she was telling him his missed his chance when he chose being a Buchanan over his love for her and in the next breath she was in bed with him. Unfortunately, that has been too typical of Natalie when it comes to men and that should change. When it comes to Jessica, I have to say that I have total sympathy for her and she did not “bring” Jared to Llanview. Yes, what Tess did to Jared was terrible but Jared more than got his payback ever since he came to Llanview. And let’s remember that Jared was obsessed with Asa Buchanan from the time he was a young boy with Pamela telling him all about Asa. Discovering Jessica’s picture in Asa’s book led Jared to come to Llanview to seek revenge. I don’t blame him for wanting revenge, but he got that and a lot more. In my opinion, Jessica doesn’t deserve to pay the price she paid.

Lorraine writes: “Kudos to the writers for going full circle! Who'd have thought that Talia and Carlo Hesser were family? Didn't Talia know about her father and the Vega brothers? Wow, what a storyline. My girl Tess is back. What great acting from Bree. She almost had me crying at the funeral for Nash. When Tess moved the top from the casket, I thought I was going to lose it!”

Dear Lorraine: Yep, Carlo is Talia’s father and so far we have no clue what Talia knows about her father’s past with anyone in Llanview, but I’m sure we’re going to find out soon. We know that Talia’s mother took her away to get her out of Carlo’s clutches and married another man who was like a father to Talia and I’m sure we’re going to get some more shockers very soon. Yes, Bree’s acting has been phenomenal and has brought me to tears many times recently. She is very deserving of an Emmy nomination next year and I thought she deserved one in the past also. I hope the Emmy’s break with tradition and acknowledge more of OLTL’s great acting talent in the future. That would be a welcome surprise.

Deb writes: “Sorry, I have to disagree with you about Charlie and Viki. Their demons are so much a like. They both have issues with their pasts. Charlie dealt with it by drinking and Viki with Niki and company. This is the first person I have liked Viki with since Clint.”

Dear Deb: I understand that you want Charlie and Viki together. I hope that he proves he can be the man she deserves. I just don’t see it at this point. As far as their demons go, I think Viki has a pretty good handle on hers right now, even if she didn’t in the past, but I think she has more than enough to deal with these days and she needs a man who can support her and not bring extra baggage into her life. And by the way, since I’m an equal opportunity writer, LOL, I won’t slam you (much) for breezing over the one man who I think was Viki’s best mate since Joe Riley and that, of course, was Ben.
