    • The Chevrolet Suburban was introduced in 1936 and originally based on a commercial panel truck. The Suburban of the 1930s was considered a truck-based station wagon. The Suburban has undergone plenty of transformations since its debut, but its performance and proven reliability have ensured its spot in the Chevrolet lineup even today. The 2005 Chevrolet Suburban is part of the tenth generation of the SUV and comes in three models: the LT, Z71 and LS.

    Engine and Fuel Economy

    • The 2005 Suburban comes with a 295-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 with a 96 mm bore, 92 mm stroke and a 9.5:1 compression ratio. The engine's maximum horsepower is 5,200 RPM, and its maximum torque is 335 foot-pounds at 4,000 RPM. The 2005 Suburban takes regular, unleaded gasoline and gets about 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 on the highway. A 31-gallon fuel tank allows for an overall range of between 430 and 560 miles.

    Transmission and Drive
