Is Your Life in Balance?

According to Dr.
Randolph Stone (the founder of Polarity Therapy), "Disease is not an entity or a fixed thing; it is nothing but a blockage of the currents of life in their flow and pattern circuits.
" Hmm, sounds a bit confusing.
What he's saying is that physical symptoms like back pain or a stiff neck aren't just issues relating to muscle and bone.
Dr Stone decreed that every single element of pain be it emotional or physical, stems from an imbalance between the positive and negative charges within our bodies.
Still confused? Let me explain...
All cells are bipolar, meaning they contain a positive and a negative charge.
The basis of polarity therapy is to balance these two opposites imparting a sense of harmony.
Polarity therapy is a scientifically proven method of treatment that was founded by Dr Randolph Stone in the 1940s and is recognised as having immense power to heal.
How does it work? A polarity therapist can locate imbalances by feeling differences in the energy throughout your body.
Our hands retain a positive and negative energy charge (positive in the right, negative in the left) which can be used as polarising agents when placed on body parts or systems which are out of balance.
Imbalance in any area of the mind, body or spirit can manifest as ill health.
Excess positive currents may cause heat and swelling, whereas excess negative currents may promote congestion and spasms.
Both can be corrected by having the opposite current held over them in order to polarise the situation.
For example, placing your left hand over a pain site may help reduce swelling, and placing your right hand directly into muscle cramps might help to balance the energy and reduce the cramp.
What is involved in a session? A polarity session will begin with a detailed interview that enables your therapist to ascertain any imbalances within your Being.
Polarity looks at finding the cause of imbalance beyond a purely physical outlook.
There are numerous polarity techniques, but for the most part a session will involve the therapist laying or pressing their hands on your body, sometimes using rocking, acupressure or massage to invoke a balanced/polarised connection.
Varying degrees of pressure are used within polarity sessions.
Sattvic is the name for a very light pressure hardly felt by the client; rajasic is active and stimulating, encouraging the energy to move; and tamasic is a deep penetrating method but is neither painful nor harmful.
The techniques used will depend upon what is required.
What is polarity therapy best for? * heart problems * anxiety * arthritis/gout * back/neck pain * water retention * weight loss * skin problems * emotional issues * depression Polarity therapy and headaches: As well as the hands-on element to polarity, this therapy encompasses yogic postures and diet which can all help to relieve headaches or prevent them from occurring.
A polarity therapist will spend a length of time discussing your headaches and possible causes before prescribing a suitable course of treatment.
Polarity therapy and back pain: Balancing the energy between two points whether they are on the neck, back or limbs can provide immense relief in some cases.
Polarity therapists would usually work on a variety of areas which they see as relating to the cause of your back pain so you may have your feet, back and head treated in order to regain a balance.
Each therapist will work slightly differently and should discuss a treatment plan with you.
Polarity therapy and depression: People with bi-polar and other depressive states may achieve impressive results using polarity therapy.
The aim of polarity is to work with life's natural currents and re-establish order that is preventing ill health and this can extend to any form of disease be it of the mind or body.
(If you are taking prescribed medication for depression, do not discontinue use without the advice of your GP).
Is polarity therapy safe during pregnancy? According to Dr Randolph Stone (founder of Polarity therapy) the pelvis is the foundation of the body.
Maintaining a polarity balance in this area is vital particularly when trying to conceive or during gestation.
Polarity is a powerful therapy that works according to the gentle laws of nature deeming it harmless during pregnancy, however, during the first trimester caution is always advised.
Is polarity therapy safe for children? Babies, children and teenagers can all find relief from a number of ailments of a physical and emotional nature.
The object of polarity is to balance the body/mind so by treating your child you can help to extinguish allergic reactions, behaviour disorders and other physical issues.
As you can see, there are a wealth of health conditions that can be eased or relieved with polarity therapy, and probably many more than I have mentioned here.
Like I said before, Polarity Therapy is a scientifically proven modality but like all things, there will be people who respond better to it than others.
The good thing is that like most natural treatments, the side effects are little to none.
So if you're sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, you could do a lot worse than spend a few dollars on a polarity session, and if it doesn't work out to be your thing, there are plenty more therapies out there to be tried.
Ultimately, the best way to stay healthy is to make time to discover more about the benefits of natural therapies.
Because once you begin to take responsibility for your health, you might just find you feel more balanced anyway.
